Postcrossing

Postcrossing

Well hello there – a Saturday post, lucky you!  Ahem…

I just wanted to tell you about the things that I had been up to apart from photography and reading.  I have been flicking though my favourite magazines – Flow and Pretty Nostalgic – and feeling a little bit sad that the world seems to be so fast moving and techy these days, and while I love the technology and all it can bring, I sometimes feel the need to slow down.  Flow Magazine had a whole article on the world of Postcrossing and the art of writing postcards and it intrigued me.

So I joined Postcrossing – a site where you can send postcards around the world and receive them from other people.  Now this might sound slightly random, and I suppose it is, but I find the whole concept really quite exciting.  I have requested a couple of addresses, and these postcards will be winging their way to Russia and Germany.  (The third will be on its way to my Nan who only lives around the corner in global terms, but I think she will like it anyway.)  Judging by the number of members on the site, I am not the only one who finds this joyful.

So how about you?  Do you like to slow things down once in a while, or are you all for the tech?   I’d love to know.  I’d also love to know if any of you feel like joining up to the postcrossing site too!

    • Yippee! I am so glad you have joined too. I am ridiculously excited at the prospect of receiving my first postcard in the post – I wonder who it will be from?! 🙂
